Social Studies: discuss geography, resources and crops; we will have a quiz on Wednesday December 18th; we’ll finish up this chapter when we come back from break

Secret Santa Gift

If you haven't sent in a gift yet, please send one in no later than Friday. I would really like for all of the children to be able to receive a gift.
Please wrap the present and label it:

Typo on Studying this week!

There was a typo on this week's studying this week! We have 2 more full days this week. Friday is a whole day, not a half day.
We will take our math test tomorrow. (on place value)
We will take our normal spelling and reading test on Friday.
The kids and I will celebrate Christmas Friday afternoon with our Christmas party.
I apologize for any confusion.

Book report, just in case

 I was at home when I put together the December book report papers, and did not have my original list. If the December forms are different from the list I gave you with all of the months, I apologize. Either use a book from the list I sent with all of the months, or go by the forms I sent for December.

This explains how this month’s book report will be graded. It also gives you a checklist to see if you have completed each part. Please be sure that the majority of the work is done by the student with only a little help from someone else.

*Christmas Concerts are on Tuesday December 17th. There is one at 10am and another at 7pm. Please be sure your child is at their classroom at 6:45pm on Tuesday evening.
* Please send a $5 boy gift (if your child is a boy) or $5 girl gift (if your child is a girl) in no later than Thursday December 19h. We will be exchanging gifts on Friday December 20th; this is our Christmas party.
* If your child’s last name ends in any letter starting with A through M please send in a treat or drink for our Christmas party. Please send in a note with your child or send an email to Mrs. Blansett to let her know what you would like to bring. Thank you!!! (The families who are at the “end” of the alphabet will be asked to send something in for the next party.)

Scholastic book orders

12/4/13
I apologize for the late notice. This is not required. If anyone would like to purchase books for Christmas, please turn in your order no later than Friday December 6th.
If you simply want to place an order, it can come in as late as Friday December 20th.
You can also order online. Last year the class received extra bonus points when you ordered online. I don’t know if this is still the case. Our code is GLCFC. I will also post it on the blog.
